The Archive Building is situated on the Western Campus at Leeds University, adjacent to the new Law School, also designed by Broadway Malyan. The new building provides the University of Leeds and Marks & Spencer with modern repository spaces with a suitably controlled environment for their valuable stock. 18,500m² of modern mobile shelving accommodates the Universitys most valuable books and magazines. Historical photographs and films, unique textiles and historical papers are housed in the M&S strong room, which provides environmentally controlled storage. The retailers permanent exhibition is also housed here, along with exhibition spaces, a conference suite, reading rooms and offices.
