Exterior views include the bell tower and general building facades. Most views focus on the architectural sculpture of the Portale delle Donne and the Portale degli Uomini. Interior views in the Medieval core collection focus on a statue of St. Catherine in an aedicule (15th century); an ambo lecturn (pluteus) decorated with the four symbols of the Evangelists (c. 1267); a statue of the Virgin and Child under a sculpted baldachin on the entrance wall of the oratory (14th century) and the main altar composed of sarcophagus fragments of lions and peacocks in low-relief (8th-10th centuries). This figure, known as a god-fish, was drawn by Faucher-Gudin from an Assyrian bas-relief from Nimrud to accompany a book on ancient Egypt by Gaston Maspero. This bas-relief decorated an area near to entrance to the Assyrian palace at Nimrud. This fish-god was known as Dagon. Nimrud, on eof the chief cities of ancient Assyria, is in what is present-day northern Iraq.

Reliefs on the Voortrekker Monument at Pretoria, South Africa. The Voortrekker Monument is located just south of Pretoria in South Africa. This massive granite structure is prominently located on a hilltop, and was raised to commemorate the Voortrekkers who left the Cape Colony between 1835 and 1854. It was designed by the architect Gerard Moerdijk. On 8 July 2011, the Voortrekker Monument was declared a National Heritage Site by the South African Heritage Resource Agency.
