Dramatic Message Was Just An AdvertisementThe bottle and the message - an advertisement *****. A nine-inch bottle, sealed with a William IV farthing and containing documents was opened in County Hall, Westminster, London today (Thursday) - and the message within turned out to be an advertisement for a firm of stonework suppliers. The bottle was found by workmen engaged in removal of paint from the red lion which stood from 1837 until recently on top of the Red Lion Brewery on the South Bank (London) Exhibition site for the Festival of Britain. March 3, 1951.

Eva Braun's Photo Albums, ca. 1913 - ca. 1944. These albums are attributed to Eva Braun (four are claimed by her friend Herta Schneider, nee Ostermeyer) and document her life from ca. 1913 to 1944. There are many photographs of Eva, her sisters and their children, Herta Schneider and her children, as well as photographs of Eva's vacations, family members and friends. Included also are photographs taken by and of Eva Braun at Hitler's chalet Berghof (or Kehlstein), photographs of Hitler and his entourage, visitors to Berghof and the scenery around Berchtesgaden, and some studio portraits of Eva and members of her family.

German Castle Loot Recovered -- Several volumes of letters by Queen Victoria of Britain, dating from 1891 to 1893, and the Victoria Bible are among this rare collection. The army said it was recovered in the United States after it had been reported taken from its cache in Kronberg Castle, Germany. Letters are in three stacks of volumes in center, foreground. Lady Churchill's Birthday Cake -- A birthday cake for lady Churchill, who is 69 today, was delivered to No. 10 Downing Street, this morning. It was baked in Soho by Mme. Floris and illustrates Lady Churchill's interests in gardening and croquet. The verse on top of the cake was composed by Mme. Floris's son. There is no elaborate birthday party as Lady Churchill is still under medical treatment for neuritis in the arm. The cake will be eaten at a family party in her rooom at No. 10 Downing Street.
