German Military Album Second World War, 1940 - 1975 German military photo album with a brown paper cover with red back and inscription in the Russian "album". 50 gray interior sheets bound in cover. The interior has 61 black and white photos. 31 blanks blank. The album probably belonged to Dieter Glitsch from Hardegsen. He belonged to a Luftwaffe Einheit. Presumably he spent 3 years in Russian imprisonment after 1945. The photos show soldier life, first probably before the war in Germany and a small part in the Netherlands. The last pages are about a Volkswagen factory. The album also includes a group of 39 individual photos. Travel album with pictures of sights in Genoa, Florence and Venice. Photo album in band of white parchment. The back and front and rear platform are decorated with leaf and floral motifs in gold pressure. The barrels also have a gold and brown-colored motif of magazines and flowers. The album contains 50 sheets of red on cut with 101 pictures of sights in Genoa, Florence and Venice, including the cemetery of Staglieno, the Villa Pallavicini, works of art from Uffizi, churches and Palazzi.

Travel album with pictures of sights in Belgium and France. Photo album in band of white parchment. The back and front and rear platform are decorated with leaf and floral motifs in gold pressure. The bracts have a golden and green-colored fantasy motif of plants, vases and images and birds. The album contains 39 sheets red on cut, with 76 photos of sights in mainly Brussels, Paris, Versailles, Marseille and Nice. The compiler is unknown. The sticker in the back of the album of the photographer Giacomo Brogi, established in Florence, suggests that the compiler came from Italy.

Italian Sketchbook Sanford Robinson Gifford (American, 1823-1880). Italian Sketchbook, 1867-1868. Graphite on tan, medium-weight, slightly textured wove paper, 5 x 9 x 7/16 in. (12.7 x 22.9 x 1.1 cm). This sketchbook served as a travel diary for the Hudson River School landscape painter Sanford Robinson Gifford during his journeys in France, Switzerland, and Italy. In this two-page spread depicting the church of Santa Caterina del Sasso, perched precariously on the edge of a cliff overlooking Lake Maggiore in Italy, Giffords precise and assured lines exemplify his skills as a draftsman. A practitioner of plein air sketching, the artist used these drawings as preparatory studies for paintings executed later in his studio. The small framed motifs that appear on this and other pages of the sketchbook show his initial experiments with composition. American Art 1867-1868

Album with performances of the story of Jason and the Argonauten, 1799 Album with title print and 24 etchings on 25 album blades. The album contains four sheets with the French text in book prints containing references (T.I to T.XXIV) to the series of performances of the story of Jason and the Argonauts. The illustrations were designed and signed by Asmus Jacob Carstens. After Carsten's death, Joseph Anton Koch bought the drawings, etched (possibly written the text with the help of Carl Ludwig Fernow) and published as a series. The French title is "Les Argonautes Selon Pindare, Orphée et Apollonius de Rhodes". There were probably three editions, one with the dating according to the French Republican calendar (VII), the publication with the Dates 1799 in Roman figures on the title print and a third version issued by Tomasso Piroli between1807 and 1810.
