The Aeroflot helicopter, type MI-26, registration number CCCP-06121 led some test flights from Schiphol for KLM helicopters. The helicopter is flying at the Conoco Logger Drilling Platform L-16. In the middle, a Westland-Lynx SH-14C helicopter (276) and above a Westland-Lynx SH-14B helicopter (269) from Marine Vliegkamp de Kooy. Conoco is the abbreviation for The Continental Netherlands Oil Company B. V. The L16 location is on the North Sea, 30 kilometers west of Den Helder. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, FLA. - The Liberty Star (left) tows the Pegasus barge through Port Canaveral, the last leg of its journey from the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans to Kennedy Space Center. The barge carries the redesigned external fuel tank that will launch Space Shuttle Atlantis on the next shuttle mission, STS-115. A tugboat will continue the journey upriver to the Turn Basin where, after off-loading, the tank will be moved into the Vehicle Assembly Building and lifted into a checkout cell for further work. The tank, designated ET-118, will fly with many major safety changes, including the removal of the protuberance air load ramps.

Sailors from U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command and staff from Naval Oceanographic Office embarked on Military Sealift Command oceanographic survey ship USNS Pathfinder (T-AGS 60) for training and a familiarization underway. The Pathfinder is the oldest of six ships in the Pathfinder Class, and is named for Matthew Fontaine Maury, "Pathfinder of the Seas" and "Father of Modern Oceanography and Naval Meteorology." The ship was delivered to the Navy in October of 1994 and has completed over 250 survey missions. U.S. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (NMOC) directs and oversees more than 2,500 globally-distributed military and civilian personnel who collect, process and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to make better decisions faster than the adversary.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Freedom Star, one of NASA's solid rocket booster retrieval ships, pulls the Space Shuttle Program's last external fuel tank, ET-122, toward NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The tank traveled 900 miles by sea from NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans aboard the Pegasus Barge. After reaching the Turn Basin at Kennedy, the tank will be offloaded and moved to the Vehicle Assembly Building where it eventually will be attached to space shuttle Endeavour for the STS-134 mission to the International Space Station. STS-134, targeted to launch in Feb. 2011, currently is scheduled to be the last mission in the Space Shuttle Program. The tank, which is the largest element of the space shuttle stack, was damaged during Hurricane Katrina in August 2005 and restored to flight configuration by Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company employees.

Running tracks are my secret weapon and favoured shooting venue when on board cruise liners. Not only do they help in the fight against lashings of over-caloried on-board food, but they also invariably offer fine views of the sea and - when moored - cruise destinations....Here we see the view from the running track of a single passenger looking on as the ship approaches the giant port and industrial complexes of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.The Port of Rotterdam is the largest seaport in Europe, and the world's largest outside Asia Its scale is simply mind boggling, covering 105 square kilometres in area and stretching over a distance of 40 kilometres from the North Sea to the International Cruise Terminal and City Centre; if you arrive by sea, as we did, it takes well over 3 hours to do this.
