The story in pictures.Genghis Khan (Marvin Miller) has had no word from either co-commander of his vanguard and descends in anger upon the city with his horde. There, before the gate, is his son, spread-eagled in death, with his soothsayer who points to the legend on the gate: "He Who Comes to Destroy Samarkand Shal lHimself Be Destroyed". Sir Guy stands alone with only dead Tartars and Kalmuks visible behind him. November 4, 1952.
