Inter-American Defense College Staff, Faculty and Students tour Gettysburg National Military Park, Gettysburg, Pa., Sept. 23, 2022. The Park protects and interprets the landscape of the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg during the American Civil War. There are 43,000 American Civil War artifacts that are displayed in the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center. HA/DR training allows partnering nations to strengthen capabilities and interoperability with one another in order to respond in times of need. Now in its 17th year, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. Pacific Partnership is a unifying mission that fosters enduring friendships and cooperation among many nations. The Coast Guard Academy honored five retired academic and professional faculty members who are now professors emeriti, April 22, 2022. SYDNEY, Australia (Nov. 10, 2022) - Rear Adm. Ron Piret, Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command, visited HMAS Penguin for a tour of Australian Navy Hydrography capabilities and missions during his visit to Australia, Nov 10. Piret received several briefings and viewed static displays that showcased the Australian Hydrographic Offices capability and mission sets. In addition, Piret signed a memorandum of understanding between the two navies for further collaboration with Commodore Stewart Dunne, Director General Maritime Geospatial and Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organization. Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command directs and oversees more than 2,500 globally-distributed military and civilian personnel who collect, process and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to make better decisions faster than the adversary.

GREAT LAKES, Il. (June 1, 2022) Educators with Navy Talent Acquisition Group Southwest and Navy Recruiting Command tour Recruit Training Command and Naval Station Great Lakes as part of the Educator Orientation Visit (EOV) to familiarize teachers with different aspects of the Navy. Opened in 1911, NSGL is the Navys largest training installation and the home of the Navys only Boot Camp. Located on over 1600 acres overlooking Lake Michigan, the installation includes 1,153 buildings with 39 on the National Register of Historic Places. NSGL supports over 50 tenant commands and elements as well as over 20,000 Sailors, Marines, Soldiers, and DoD civilians who live and work on the installation.

Volunteers at the 100th Bomb Group Memorial Museum officially receive the Queens Award for Voluntary Service at Thorpe Abbotts, Norfolk, England, Sept. 8, 2022. Sadly, it was the same day Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II passed away. The poignant and bittersweet award, signed by the Queen, is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the United Kingdom and only two in Norfolk received the award as part of the Platinum Jubilee and in recognition of extraordinary service to the community. The 100th Air Refueling Wings heritage comes from the 100th Bomb Group and the museum is dedicated to Airmen of the Eighth Air Force during World War II, and leadership from Royal Air Force Mildenhall attended the event which honored the volunteers.
