These are interpreted generally as a sun or full moon, a lunar crescent, and stars. Two golden arcs along the sides, marking the angle between the solstices, were added later. The disk is attributed to a site near Nebra, Saxony-Anhalt, in Germany, and associatively dated to c. 1600 BC. It has been associated with the Bronze Age Unetice culture.Glass-in-lead window with the names of sponsors designed by Irma Boom ..Angel wings on dark wooden background. Thomas Richard Williams (English, 1825 - 1871)Chessmen (32) second half 18th century Portuguese The king, queen, knight, and bishop are busts with almost no shoulders, fixed at the closed base of a circular gallery that extends halfway up their height. The gallery is finished with a row of upright leaves. The rook is a higher gallery narrowing toward the top, ending with a ring of four crenelations and topped by a small central knob. The pawns are half-figures, again with almost no shoulders, fixed to a baluster on a short stand. This type of chessman, with encircling galleries of vertical leaves, has been popular in Spain. The galleries in the simpler sets enclose symbols, miters and conventional substitutions for crowns, rather than busts.. Chessmen (32) 200018Still-Life; Nature Morte. Nicolas de Stael (1914-1955). The minister (queen) is in an open howdah, but shaded by an umbrella. The original symbolism has been lost in this set, as is evident by the introduction of a lion on the British side in lieu of the elephant (bishop) and a rhinoceros on the Indian side - a peculiar innovation though the animal does exist in India. A cavalryman correctly acts as knight on the British side, and a cameleer with drawn sword, incorrectly, on the Indian side. The camel often appears in Indian chess sets in the position of the bishop, but not as the knight. The rooks are crenellated towers, with a soldier holding a flag on top. The pawns are standing soldiers, the British with muskets, the Hindus with long spears and round shields. The set, obviously, was not made for playing purposeProbably Florentine 16th Century, A Bird, late 16th century, bronze; Dark patinahand holding a phone with a padlock security symbolCoffee cup marks isolated on a white background. The glass fragment shows colorful (yellow, white, turquoise, red and brown) squares composed to big rectangles. In Roman times, they used colored, ornamented glass for vessels, mosaics, wall decorations and furniture ornaments. For the production, different colored glasses were tubing and shaped bars. These were compressed and heated, causing a long bar. The glass sliced now had a wide variety of amorphous or floral patterns.Retro wooden ornament made in 3D graphicsBars on WindowsNegative film strips, bits and pieces for your design.
