Tribute to Georges Étienne Cartier; Allegory. Unfinished image with allegories on a very rich decorated monument as a tribute to the Canadian politician Georges Étienne Cartier. His portrait is depicted twice. At the foot of the monument his bust stands for an empty medallion that is flanked by two sea oven. The medallion was probably intended for a Canada map. A train is shown on top of the round list. The second portrait is completely at the top of a column flanked by two lying women with different attributes such as books, hoses, stars, measuring instruments, horn and a wagon wheel. The four other women are personnifications from the four peoples in Canada from France, Scotland, Ireland and England recognizable by their attributes, lily, thistle, cloverleaf and rose.
