London Jews in Wartime- the work of Youth Clubs in Stepney, London, 1942 A PT class underway in the gymnasium of the Bernhard Baron Settlement boys' club, Berner Street, Commercial Road. Sport and physical exercise was extremely important in the education of these boys at the Settlement. The posters on the wall of the gym state that there is PT and boxing every Tuesday and Thursday, and Red Cross First Aid and home nursing training on Monday and Thursday. Another poster reads: 'Train yourself now to train others after - Join the Cadet Corps'.
