Floating Acre of Concrete -- Tugs slowly inch a huge 400-foot floating dry dock, made of enough concrete to cover an acre of ground five inches thick, through draw bridges here today, on route to a shipyard for fittings. The 4,157,000 oceanic dock largest of its kind ever built in this country -- will be turned over to the Navy after being outfitted with necessary equipment, including crew's quarters and gun emplacements. Dead Taken From Squalus -- The ill-fated submarine Squalus is pictured in drydock at the Portsmouth Navy Yard where she was placed last night after one of the most outstanding salvage jobs in sea history. It was reported today that 24 of the 26 dead in the submarine had been taken from the craft where they had been entombed since May 23rd when the ship went to the bottom after a trial dive. The craft which cost the Navy almost $4,000,000, will be put back in service after a overhauling. Septembe

Loading of Lok 4102. Produced by Nohab for delivery to Russia.1920 Nohab received a large order of 1000 locomotives to Russia but it had decreased two years later to 500. The order was worth SEK 230 million and was paid by 56 tonnes of pure gold. 500 locomotives were produced from September 1921 to December 1924.

As a result of a defect occurring on 30 March 1979, the main electoral motor of the Oceanographic research vessel had to be Hr.Ms. Tydeman (A 906) removed from the ship by the Rijkswerf (RW) to be sent to the manufacturer in Germany for repair.

All that is Left of the former great French liner Normandie. Wreeking crews at Port Newark, New Jersey (USA), are rounding off their task of turning her into scrap metal. During the war the Normandie caught fire in port and later capsized. September 3, 1947. During World War II, Normandie was seized by U.S. authorities at New York and renamed USS Lafayette. In 1942, the liner caught fire while being converted to a troopship, capsized onto her port side and came to rest on the mud of the Hudson River at Pier 88
