Aviation in Britain Before the First World War Cody's funeral procession. Members of the Royal Flying Corps. Despite the fact that he was not in the armed forces as a sign of the respect and esteem he was held in Cody was giving a funeral with full military honours, his coffin being borne on a gun carriage that was part of a 1/2 mile long procession, before being buried at the military cemetery in Aldershot. It is thought that every battalion based at Aldershot was represented at the funeral, along with virtually the entire compliment of the RFC. The whole of the 2 1/2 mile funeral route was lined with crowds, with around 100,000 people attending. Hundreds of telegraphs of commiseration were sent to Lela Cody including ones from King and Queen and the Secretary of State for War. Several hundred floral tributes were laid at his grave with many coming from members of the public who had never met Cody along with those from the many friends he had made during his various careers.

Detachment 101, an enigmatic Allied intelligence and special operations unit during World War II, played a pivotal role in the Burmese theater. Operating deep in the jungles of Burma, their mission was multi-faceted, encompassing guerrilla warfare, espionage, and sabotage against Japanese forces. Comprising a diverse group of individuals, from OSS agents to indigenous fighters, they effectively disrupted Japanese supply lines, gathered critical intelligence, and supported resistance movements.

The Siege of Tsingtao was the attack on the German-controlled port of Tsingtao (now Qingdao) in China during World War I by Imperial Japan and the United Kingdom. It took place between 31 October and 7 November 1914 and was fought by Imperial Japan and the United Kingdom against Germany. It was the first encounter between Japanese and German forces, and also the first Anglo-Japanese operation during the war.

The peace Council between Geronimo (in bandana) and General Crook (in pith helmet) hold a peace council at a campsite in Canyon de Los Embudos, Mexico, March 25, 1886. On March 27th, the Apaches leaders accepted Crook's surrender terms that the hostiles and their families must go into Eastern internment for two years. Then they would be released to go to the Apache reservation at San Carlos. As Crook was reporting the settlement via telegraph to Gen.
