Bangården at Malmö station. Malmö Central Station. From 1856 to 1864, the southern main line had been opened in stages. The main line from Malmö to Lund was opened for traffic 1856-12-01. The first station house in stone with railway hall was built in 1855-56 by an unknown Danish architect, possibly C.F.RASMISSEN. The building was largely destroyed ten years later, on December 14, 1866, in the event of a fire. In 1878, a large extension of the track system was completed, stable circle was added, the repair shop and the goods magazine were expanded. Connection of individual railways to the state track's own growing traffic. The new station house and Banhallen was completed in 1981. Architect was A W Edelswaard. Stationshus is K-marked in 1986. Double track between Malmö and Arlöv was opened for public traffic in 1896. To follow the development of traffic, the station has undergone several expansion and modernizations.
