Photograph of Phil Edwards (1907-1971) in the 800 meter race in the 1932 Olympic games. Edwards competed in the 1932 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, where he was one of a number of black athletes, to compete before the Hitler regime. Phil's nickname was 'Man of Bronze' due to the amount of bronze medals he had won over his career.
