Calligraphic Excersize in Italian (Cursive Script). Artist: Anonymous French or Flemish. Dimensions: Overall: 6 3/4 × 11 1/16 in. (17.1 × 28.1 cm). Date: early 17th century.Calligraphic exercize in Italian, presented in a double rectangular frame broken up by the initial letter 'L' in the upper left corner. The text begins with the words 'La podesta o prominenza vien () da Dio (...)' and runs for six lines. The ascenders and descenders are highlighted in gold. Part of an album with 26 examples of calligraphy and micrography, thought to have been produced in France or possibly Antwerp at the beginning of the seventeenth century.
