"Private George Carum, a Syrian-born soldier, served in Co. A of the 125th Infantry during World War One. Standing at 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, he was drafted in June 1918 and trained in the United States before being sent overseas with the 39th Division. He later joined the 32nd Division as a Casual. Carum spoke Arabian and English and had settled in Oklahoma City in 1910, originally drawn to the United States by descriptions in Arabian newspapers and magazines. He worked as a dry goods peddler and clerk and had a third-grade education from Arabian occupation schools and night school in America. Carum was regarded as a conscientious soldier, albeit slightly slow."

The image shows the three positions of donning the mask - position one, position two with the chin inserted, and position three with the head straps adjusted and the mask in its proper position. This method is being adopted by the service.
