Immediately after arrival of the Dutch troops, the construction of a Bailey bridge started. The construction of the pillars, on which the new bridge should come to rest, naturally cost any head associated in this difficult site, but the men of a company field genius played it in a very short time .. Friday afternoon, October 22, 1948, the express train Batavia-Bandoeng is located at 4.50 pm two kilometers south of Poerwakarta, at Bendoel, because the rails had broken up through a gang terrorists over a distance of twenty meters. Immediately after the derailment, the train was taken under fire through the automatic weapons and guns, manned of an estimated fifty man, so that eight people were killed and wounded twenty-three. Because a significant number of soldiers increased by train, the fire from the gang could almost immediately be answered. This prevents worse. The Tet Offensive was a military campaign during the Vietnam War that began on January 31, 1968. Forces of the National Liberation Front for South Vietnam (NLF, or Viet Cong), and the People's Army of Vietnam (the North Vietnamese army), fought against the forces of the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam), the United States, and their allies. The purpose of the offensive was to strike military and civilian command and control centers throughout South Vietnam and to spark a general uprising among the population that would then topple the Saigon government, thus ending the war in a single blow.
