The Hoemskerck-Class Air Deason Fregat (L-Fregat), the Jacob van Heemskerck (1986-2004) arrives after a test run in the port of Den Helder. The ship has not yet been transferred to the royal navy and therefore does not yet carry a bow number. Cycling Type Coast Trail Boats, Hr.Ms. Wielingen (1968-1992)) and Hr.Ms. Westgat (1968-1997) provide assistance. The ship will be hired on January 15, 1986 and will carry out the bow number F812.

Navy's Newest Palne Carrier Stars On Shakedown TrialsThe United State Navy's newest Airplane Carrier, the $21,000,000 U.S.S. Wasp passed under a Drawbridge here, Dec. 18th. As she starts out from the Bethlehem Steel Company's fore river yards on her first ***** shakedown cruise. Parts of her decks were shrouded with Tarpaulins to protect secret equipment from trying eyes. The Wasp is eighteen months behind schedule, install machinery and equipment perfected during her building. She was launched last April. December 18, 1939. (Photo by ACME).
