Sacrificio de víctimas humanas en la mayor festividad anual, que se celebraba en Abomey (la capital) a principios del otoño, llamada Attoh. Era un tributo a los espíritus invisibles. Durante las mismas se recogían impuestos, el precio del dinero era fijado, se realizaban nombramientos de cargos civiles y militares, se recompensaban las buenas acciones y los criminales eran severamente castigados. De entre éstos se escogían las víctimas para los sacrificios de la fiesta. En el día seleccionado aparecían en lo alto de unas plataformas, en cestas, siendo lanzadas al vacío y decapitadas por verdugos una vez en el suelo.
