KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- Lights on Runway 15 silhouette Endeavour with its drag chute open as it lands at 6:04 p.m. EST following a 4.4-million-mile mission to the International Space Station. At the controls is Commander Brent Jett, completing the successful 10-day, 19-hour and 58-minute-long STS-97 mission. Other crew members on board are Pilot Michael Bloomfield and Mission Specialists Joseph Tanner, Carlos Noriega and Marc Garneau, with the Canadian Space Agency. Endeavour carried the P6 Integrated Truss Structure with solar arrays to power the International Space Station. The arrays and other equipment were installed during three EVAs that totaled 19 hours, 20 minutes. Endeavour was docked with the Space Station for 6 days, 23 hours, 13 minutes. This was the 16th nighttime landing for a Space Shuttle and the 53rd at Kennedy Space Center

PATRICK AFB, Fla. - In preparation of the nations first lunar landing mission, Apollo 11 crew members arrive at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida. Lunar module pilot Edwin E. Buzz Aldrin Jr. is in the front seat of the T-38 jet, with command module pilot Michael Collins, in the back. Lift off atop a Saturn V launch vehicle is scheduled for July 16, 1969. During Apollo 11 the command module, Columbia, will remain in orbit around the moon while the lunar module, Eagle, carrying Armstrong and Aldrin, lands on the lunar surface. During 2½ hours of surface exploration, the crew plans to collect lunar surface material for analysis back on Earth.

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Fla. -- After a flawless mission, Endeavour touches down at 10:53:29 p.m. EST on Runway 15 at the Shuttle Landing Facility to complete an 11-day, 19-hour and 18-minute-long STS-88 mission. At the controls is Commander Robert D. Cabana. Other crew members on board are Pilot Frederick W. "Rick" Sturckow and Mission Specialists Jerry L. Ross, Nancy J. Currie, James H. Newman and Sergei Konstantinovich Krikalev, a Russian cosmonaut. This is the tenth nighttime landing for a Space Shuttle, the fifth at Kennedy Space Center, and the ninth landing of Endeavour at KSC. On the 4.6-million-mile mission, Endeavour carried the U.S.-built Unity connecting module to begin construction of the International Space Station. The crew successfully mated Unity with the Russian-built Zarya control module during three space walks. With this mission, Ross completed seven space walks totaling 44 hours and 9 minutes, more than any other American space walker. Newman moved into third place
