USS Somerset personnel participated in various service and engagement Community Relations projects (COMRELs) during their trip.

CARVILLE, La. - Louisiana National Guardsman Cpl. Gordon M. Hanson of Lafayette, La., is honored at Louisiana State University's Alex Box Stadium, Feb. 22, during the Tigers' Sunday Salute. Hanson waved from the first-base line at the top of the third inning as his military achievements were announced to the crowd. Hanson recently returned from a 12-month deployment to Iraq with the 165th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion from Bossier City, La.

Members of the Utah National Guard were proud to help start the Fourth of July weekend with a bang by providing a cannon salute to start Stadium of Fire celebrations, July 2, 2022, in Provo, at LaVell Edwards Stadium on the Brigham Young University campus.The event kicked off with a combined color guard that included members from the Utah Air and Army National Guard along with other military branches, a flyover of F-35 fighter jets, the firing of the three 75mm howitzers rounds, Marie Osmond singing the national anthem backed by a choir, and an appearance by the U.S. Armys Golden Knight skydiving team making a spectacular landing on the stadium field.Fans enjoyed the hour-long Tim McGraw concert where they danced and sang along with many of his songs. The District of Columbia National Guard has participated in every opening day since the Nationals returned to Washington in 2005.

LOUIS (Aug. 18, 2022) Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Mid America Future Sailors with the 64th Annual Recruit Cardinal Company recite the oath of enlistment at Busch Stadium during a swear-in ceremony, Aug. 18, 2022. Cardinal Company is named after the St. Louis Cardinals, who together with NTAG Mid America and the St. Louis Navy League, have sponsored the group annually since 1958. Every year, Cardinal Company is composed of NTAG Mid America Future Sailors who march from the Gateway Arch to Busch Stadium, taking the oath of enlistment while on the baseball field. NTAG Mid America, part of Navy Recruiting Command, recruits the next generation of Navy Sailors throughout areas encompassing Missouri, Kansas, central and southern Illinois, and a portion of Kentucky.
