The Reconstruction of 'an Incident'- Civil Defence Training in Fulham, London, 1942 Members of various Civil Defence services, including ambulance workers, rescue and stretcher parties, Civil Defence wardens and nursing staff line up with their vehicles at the end of a large-scale Civil Defence training exercise in Fulham. Twelve vehicles and fifty personnel, not including the Fire Service, were involved in this exercise. The Guards Are On Parade King Attends 300th. Anniversary Celebrations -- The King inspecting the front rank of the 3rd. Battalion the Coldstream Guards during today's ceremony.Crowds of Londoners and holiday-makers turned out under threatening grey skies today to honour the Coldstream Guards, a regiment formed by Cromwell.The Coldstreams, celebrating their 300th. anniversary, paraded on London's Horse Guards Parade, and the King, their Colonel-in-Chief, presented new colors to the 3rd. Battalion, The Queen, Queen Mary and other members of the royal family attended the ceremony. Addressing the parade in his brilliant scarlet and gold uniform, the King said: "In the absence of your sister battalions in Malaya and Tripoli, you have the privilege of representing the Coldstreams here today.
