Kimbrough, McArthur, Hoshide, and Pesquet completed the second crew rotation mission to the International Space Station as part of the agencys Commercial Crew Program and spent 198 days aboard the orbiting laboratory as part of Expeditions 65 and 66.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - Gwynne Shotwell, president of SpaceX, participates in a prelaunch news conference in the Press Site Auditorium at NASAs Kennedy Space Center in Florida.Liftoff of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying a Dragon capsule to orbit is set for 4:55 a.m. EDT on May 19. The launch will be the company's second demonstration test flight for NASA's Commercial Orbital Transportation Services Program, or COTS. During the flight, the capsule will conduct a series of check-out procedures to test and prove its systems, including rendezvous and berthing with the International Space Station. If the capsule performs as planned, the cargo and experiments it is carrying will be transferred to the station. The cargo includes food, water and provisions for the stations Expedition crews, such as clothing, batteries and computer equipment. Under COTS, NASA has partnered with two aerospace companies to deliver cargo to the station.

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - At NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, Center Director Bob Cabana (left) and NASA Administrator Charles Bolden wait near space shuttle Endeavour for the STS-127 crew to emerge from the crew transport vehicle. Endeavour's landing completed the 16-day, 6.5-million mile journey on the STS-127 mission to the International Space Station. Main gear touchdown was at 10:48:08 a.m. EDT. CAPE CANAVERAL - Launch managers from NASA and United Launch Alliance oversee the countdown in the Atlas V Spaceflight Operations Center (ASOC) before the launch of the Mars Science Laboratory on an Atlas V rocket. MSL lifted off at 10:02 a.m. EST Nov. 26, beginning a 9-month interplanetary cruise to Mars. MSL's components include a car-sized rover, Curiosity, which has 10 science instruments designed to search for signs of life, including methane, and help determine if the gas is from a biological or geological source.

In the Kennedy Space Centers Press Site auditorium, Ron Fortson, United Launch Alliance director of mission management, was among agency and industry leaders who spoke to members of the news media as the Orion spacecraft and its Delta IV Heavy rocket were being prepared for launch. Orion is the exploration spacecraft designed to carry astronauts to destinations not yet explored by humans, including an asteroid and Mars. It will have emergency abort capability, sustain the crew during space travel and provide safe re-entry from deep space return velocities. The first unpiloted flight test of Orion is scheduled to launch Dec. 4, 2014 atop a United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket, and in 2018 on NASAs Space Launch System rocket.

Speaking to media about the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer-2 (AMS) is Professor Sam Ting, AMS-2 principal investigator at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Endeavour and its crew will deliver the Express Logistics Carrier-3, Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer-2 (AMS), a high-pressure gas tank and additional spare parts for the Dextre robotic helper to the International Space Station. Launch is scheduled for April 29 at 3 47 p.m. EDT. This will be the final spaceflight for Endeavour.
