SAN DIEGO, Calif. (July 1, 2015) Sailors and Marines say the pledge of allegiance during a naturalization ceremony aboard the USS Midway museum. Approximately 50 Sailors and Marines from 22 countries were sworn in as U.S. citizens during the ceremony.

PEARL HARBOR (Sept. 25, 2012) Sailors and Marines render a hand salute during morning colors from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu (LHA 5) during a port visit to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. Peleliu is the flagship for the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group currently underway on a deployment to the western Pacific region.

PEARL HARBOR (Dec. 3, 2015) Sailors and Marines man the rails on the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Essex is the flagship of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (15th MEU), is currently operating in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.

Capt. Kimberly P. Toone is piped ashore as the new commanding officer of Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC) during a change of command ceremony held at the National Naval Aviation Museum aboard Naval Air Staiton Pensacola, Sept. 30. NMOTC oversees 6 detachments and 12 training centers in more than 60 facilities spread across the U.S. with more than 65 instructional programs within aviation, surface and undersea warfare in addition to expeditionary forces and special operations medicine.

Bradley and embarked Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 22, Detachment 5, are returning to Mayport after a seven-month deployment to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility.

(September 9, 2022) - Sailors assigned to The Historic Ship Nautilus run aboard the ship during the grand re-opening ceremony of Historic Ship Nautilus in Groton, Conn. Commissioned in 1954, Nautilus was not only the worlds first nuclear-powered submarine, but also the world's first submarine to reach the North Pole in 1958. Serving for 26 years, the ship decommissioned in 1980 with 2,500 dives and deploying 510,000 miles fueled by nuclear power, and since 1986, has served as an exhibit at the Submarine Force Museum that allowed patrons to embark the only nuclear submarine open to the public. During the scheduled closure, Nautilus received $35 million in refurbishments and preservation maintenance to ensure the historic ship will be able to inform, educate, and engage the public for the next 30 years.

U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Steven R. ARLINGTON, Va. (May 2, 2013) Members of the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard escort the remains of four Sailors killed during the Vietnam War to their gravesites at Arlington National Cemetery. Lt. Dennis Peterson, from Huntington Park, Calif.; Ensign Donald Frye, from Los Angeles; and Aviation Antisubmarine Warfare Technicians 2nd Class William Jackson, from Stockdale, Texas, and Donald McGrane, from Waverly, Iowa, all four assigned to Helicopter Squadron (HS) 2, were killed when their SH-3A Sea King helicopter was shot down July 19, 1967 over Ha Nam Province, North Vietnam.

GREAT LAKES, Ill. (June 27, 2022) - Commander, Naval Service Training Command (NSTC), Rear Adm. Jennifer S. Couture, receives arrival honors during a graduation ceremony for Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) New Student Indoctrination (NSI) Cycle 1 midshipman candidates inside the Midway Ceremonial Drill Hall at Recruit Training Command (RTC), June 27. Upon completion of NSI, the candidates will start their freshman year of the NROTC program at colleges and universities nationwide this fall. NSI is an indoctrination program hosted at RTC, and provides midshipmen with a common military training orientation.
