Thanks to the diligent investigation of the Commissioner General for Dutch economic interests in Germany and the "Art Property" Foundation, it has succeeded the majority of the library of the International Institute of Social History in Amsterdam, which had been transported to Germany during the occupation track down. This library is very important for social historical science. Two ships were found to the west of Hanover with 900 crates, belong to the institute. These ships have now arrived in Amsterdam. Indian Navy at Portsmouth - A Sikh signalman trainee on bard the sloop Kistna. H.M.I.S. Kistna and H.M.I.S. Cauvery arrived today at Portsmouth with naval trainees who will later man H.M.I.S. Achilles, which is shortly to join the Indian Navy. The trainees, who are drawn from other ships, will spend a short training period learning to handle the Achilles, before it is taken over. The Indian sailors are as smart as their ***** of the Royal Navy, but wear white turbans instead of the English ***** hat. January 16, 1948.
