The bitter (between 8 and 22 November) and Hr.Ms. The inhabitant of Zeeland. A portion of the squadron departed from Den Helder, another part from Rotterdam. The journey went VA Brest, Gibraltar, Livorno, La Spezia, Lerici, La Specia, Gibraltar, Falmouth, Plymouth and Portland back to Den Helder. On Hr.Ms. De Zeeuw (1951-1964) (EX-USS EISNER The 192) the crew stops according to parade roller.

"Noah's Ark: Superstructure to Preserve Navy's Small Craft -- A view of men at work building the "Noah's Ark" preserving superstructure on one of the minesweepers moored in Haslar Creek, Portsmouth.A number of small craft with superstructures of curious ark-like appearance have recently been seen in the Solent and at Spithead and a number are also moored in Haslar Creek, Portsmouth. The appearance of these modern "Noah's Arks" is the outcome of a Reserve Fleet programme for the preservation of newly constructed inshore minesweepers of which the Navy has constructed a large number to build up it's minesweeping forces. Hosegood, at the controls, is seen leaning out of the port window.The prototype Bristol Type 173 Mark I twin-engined twin-rotor helicopter has carried out a successful series of trials at sea aboard the Royal Navy's largest aircraft carrier, H.M.S. Eagle.The helicopter, which had taken off from Gosport to join the carrier about 50 miles out at sea, was flown by Mr. C.T.D. Hosegood, the Bristol Aeroplane Company's chief helicopter test pilot, and spent three full days at sea. December 7, 1953.
