Burial of constable Don Alvaro de Luna 1858 by Eduardo Cano (1823-1897). Álvaro de Luna y Jarana (between 1388 and 1390 3 July? 1453); Duke of Trujillo; 1st Count of San Esteban de Gormaz; was a Spanish politician. He was a favourite of King John II of Castile; a Constable of Castile. Alvaro de Luna was beheaded in the main square of Valladolid in June 1453 and his remains now rest in the Cathedral of Toledo.

This 1890s illustration shows Roger Williams (1603-1683) seeking refuge among the Indians. Williams was a Puritan minister, theologian, and author who founded Providence Plantations, which became the Colony of Rhode Island. in October 1635, the General Court tried Williams and convicted him of sedition and heresy and ordered that he be banished. In January 1636, he slipped away during a blizzard and traveled 55 miles through the deep snow, from Salem to Raynham, Massachusetts where the local Wampanoags offered him shelter at their winter camp., as seen here. Sachem Massasoit hosted Williams there for the three months until spring. .

This print was titled : Representation of the ceremonies of the baptism of Mon. le Dauphin and Mes Dames, ses soeurs, at Fontainbleau, 14th day 7bre 1606. The artists responsible were Jean le Clerc and. L. Gaultier. Also noted in the ancient text, where the illustration appears, is that the ceremony represented took place 5 years after the birth of Louis XIII. The illustration shows the baptism of the dauphin (the future Louis XIII) and his sisters on september 14, 1606, at Fontainbleau in France. Louis XIII reigned from 1610 to 1643.
