The 18th Century Kitchen at Petworth House in West Sussex, United Kingdom. Petworth is a late 17th-century Grade I listed country house, rebuilt in 1688 by Charles Seymour, 6th Duke of Somerset, and altered in the 1870s to the design of the architect Anthony Salvin. Petworth is famous for its extensive art collection which include severals painting by Turner, Gainsborough and Titian. It also has an expansive deer park, landscaped by Capability Brown.

This early 21st century photo shows the interior of slave quarters at Mt. Vernon. At the time of George Washington's death in 1799, African-Americans made up roughly 90% of the plantation's population, with 317slavesand roughly twenty to thirty Anglo-Americans living on the five farms comprising MountVernon. The largest village was at the Mansion House Farm, where around ninetyslavesresided.
