Aeryn picks her first harvest which includes zucchini, swiss chard, yellow squash and cucumbers on October 14, 2010. The Venice Community Garden broke ground in April, 2010. Soil tests revealed high levels of arsenic and lead because of previous uses which included a railroad line going through the lot. Rain Garden at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church in Westchester. The garden catches runoff from the roofs of the two church structures and using a series of depressions and mulch basins allows the water to soak back into the ground instead of flowing into storm basins.
