August 23, 1966 - A photograph taken by R. Branham shows multiple culverts on the An Hoa Road in Vietnam. A Barine engineer is operating heavy equipment as part of the 3rd Engineer Battalion's road capping program. This image is evidence of construction activities carried out during the Vietnam War.

"Factual caption for the image: In this photograph taken on July 6, 1968, during the Vietnam War, Leathernecks of the Third Marine Regiment interrogate one of seven North Vietnamese (NVA) prisoners they apprehended near the demilitarized zone after a week long battle. "Viet Cong attacks on the villages of Phanh Enn and Thanh Ky Xoen resulted in the destruction of over half the villages by fire and explosives. The villages, loyal to the Saigon Government, refused to support local Viet Cong activities. Around 150 civilian villagers, including women, children, and village elders, were killed in the attack. Two Viet Cong Sappers were killed defending against popular force troops."
