His designs centred around gowns with an 18-inch waist, which focused attention on the bust and hips. Madame Maggy Besancon de Wagner, like many designers took inspiration from Dior's collection. A Parisian hairdresser named Antonio has created some Raffia coiffures which he, himself, calls "Out of This World". Antonio's fame began several years ago when he designed a hair-do for the Duchess of Windsor. Now, in his champs-turning coiffures which fit over milady's own tresses like hats. Here, Antonio, (left) and an assistant fit one of his creations on a model. This stylish number is named "Simonetta Vespucci," and was inspired by an old Italian painting." March 19, 1947.
