This inspection is conducted while the vessel lies in dry-dock during her final outfitting stages at the Bethlehem Steel Shipyard, Sparrow's Pt., Md. US safety standards for passenger and cargo vessels require rigid inspections of firefighting systems to insure they will be ready and operable in an emergency. Lieutenant Hureau, 24, a native of Haldon, Mass., has a B.S. Degree from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy. He was graduated from the Coast Guard Reserve Officers Candidate School in Yorktown, Va., and commissioned an Ensign on September 17, 1961. He and his wife Jeannette presently reside at Charing Cross Rd., Baltimore.
