Only from 22-08-1950 became the name 'De Ruyter'.

The work included; Refresh bridge complex (the island); The deck was prepared for jet aircraft; The conventional flight deck was replaced by a corner deck; The hydraulic slingshot was replaced by a steam catapult; applying a landing mirror.
