Zatopek's Wife Also Wins Olympic Gold medal -- Dana Zatopkova, wife of the Czech runner (who has so far won the 10,000m and 5,000m) pictured after she had also won a Gold Medal in the Olympic Games at ***** yesterday with a record javelin throw of 165ft 7ins. Sturdy Czech Mrs. Dana Zatopek, who won the Olympic women's javelin throw with a record of 165ft 7in. She is the wife of champion distance runner Emil Zatopek, who won three titles at the Games. Emil Zatopek (1922 - 2000), Czech long distance runner pictured following his victory in the 10,000m race at the London 1948 Olympic Games, only the second race he had ever run at that distance. Four years later, at the Helsinki Games he won gold in the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres runs, but his final medal came when he decided at the last minute to compete in the first marathon of his life. He was nicknamed the "Czech Locomotive" for his multiple golds. Date: 1948
