Odette Sansom Hallowes (1912 - 1995), also known as Odette Sansom and Odette Churchill. Allied intelligence officer during the Second World War. Her wartime exploits and endurance of a brutal interrogation and imprisonment, which were chronicled in books and a motion picture, made her one of the most celebrated members of the Special Operations Executive, the British sabotage and espionage organisation, and one of the few to survive Nazi imprisonment. She was the first woman to be awarded both the George Cross, and to be appointed a Chevalier de la Legion d'honneur

Prince's Widow Visits London -- Spending a few days in London on her way to America is the widow of Prince Adtyr of Siam, who is travelling under her maiden name as Madame Kobkaew Abhakara. She is President in Bangkok of the United Nations Appeal for Children and is to attend a conference in America at which 26 nations will be represented. Since her husband died eight years ago Madame Abhakara has devoted a great deal of her time to the welfare of poor and sick children in her country. She was elected the first chairman of the United Nations Appeal for Children seven years ago. September 02, 1954.

Dame Enid Muriel Lyons AD, GBE (nee Burnell; 9 July 1897 - 2 September 1981) was an Australian politician who was the first woman elected to the House of Representatives and the first woman to serve in federal cabinet. Prior to her own political career, she was best known as the wife of Joseph Lyons, who was Prime Minister of Australia (1932-1939) and Premier of Tasmania (1923-1928).
