Historic black and white photos depicting interiors of military barracks, sales commissaries, and offices showing military personnel and equipment.

A photo of a new hospital ward at Langley Field Aviation Experiment Station in Hampton, Va. The photo was taken on February 8, 1918. It was released by the W.C Signal Corps to the Photo Division and approved on February 28, 1918.

The freighter "Ohioan" was converted into a troop transport vessel during World War One. It sailed for France on February 4, 1919, capable of carrying 1,700 troops. The space between decks, previously used for cargo, was now transformed into quarters for soldiers returning home. The conversion process took approximately two months at Pier 9 in Hoboken, N.J. The image features one of the two isolation wards on board, which had a capacity of eight beds.
