This photograph shows a gun on blocks at the government arsenal in Watervliet, N.Y., during World War One. The gun is undergoing additional finishing work, with each part being shrunk on before other parts are applied. When finished outside of the carriage, a 12" gun weighs about 58 tons and measures approximately 50' overall. Censored and released by the War College Division on April 20, 1918.
