CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. - The Shuttle Carrier Aircraft transporting space shuttle Discovery shares the sky with a flock of seagulls as it flies over Cocoa Beach just after sunrise, giving Brevard County residents the opportunity to see the shuttle for the last time before it leaves the Space Coast for its new home.The aircraft, known as an SCA, is a Boeing 747 jet, originally manufactured for commercial use which was modified by NASA to transport the shuttles between destinations on Earth. This SCA, designated NASA 905, is assigned to the remaining ferry missions, delivering the shuttles to their permanent public display sites. NASA 905 is ferrying Discovery to the Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia today, after which the shuttle will be placed on display in the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center around April 19.

STS135-S-180 (21 July 2011) --- Space shuttle Atlantis' bright-white, iconic frame illuminates the darkness as it touches down on the Shuttle Landing Facility's Runway 15 at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida for the final time. Securing the space shuttle fleet's place in history, Atlantis marked the 26th nighttime landing of NASA's Space Shuttle Program and the 78th landing at Kennedy. Main gear touchdown was at 5:57:00 a.m. (EDT) on July 21, 2011, followed by nose gear touchdown at 5:57:20 a.m., and wheelstop at 5:57:54 a.m. Onboard are NASA astronauts Chris Ferguson, STS-135 commander; Doug Hurley, pilot; Sandy Magnus and Rex Walheim, both mission specialists. On the 37th shuttle mission to the International Space Station, STS-135 delivered more than 9,400 pounds of spare parts, equipment and supplies in the Raffaello multi-purpose logistics module that will sustain station operations for the next year. STS-135 was the 33rd and final flight for Atlantis, which has spent 307 days

Even after the mega-freighter Ever Given was freed from its grounding in the Suez Canal on March 29, 5 days later shipping traffic still had not recovered from the crisis. At the southern entrance to the Canal, in the Gulf of Suez, over 100 freighters waited their turn to enter the Canal and proceed to the Mediterranean Sea. The image was acquired April 4, covers an area of 21.3 by 34.5 km, and is located 29.7 degrees north, 32.6 degrees east.
