Detroit, Michigan USA, 7 January 2023, A newly-built $400 million Amazon fulfillment center, the largest in Michigan, remains idle as Amazon announced plans to lay off 18,000 workers as the national economy softens. The warehouse, on the site of the former Michigan State Fairgrounds, was intended to open in 2022, employing 1,200 workers, but its opening has been delayed at least a year.

DEU/Saxony/Ebersbach The Saxon cannabis producer Demecan is now the first German company to be authorised to cultivate medicinal cannabis indefinitely under the new Cannabis Act. The company had been authorised to produce since 2019, albeit subject to conditions such as a maximum production quantity or regulated distribution. These conditions will now no longer apply, which will improve the supply situation for medicinal cannabis.
