Rainstorm near Camocin, Brazil - took place about noon on April 30. Pilots are advised to fly around the edge of a storm like this. Landings should never be made in rain if avoidable. Rains usually pass in about 30 minutes.

More common than six runways, but still unusual for the overseas airfield is this double runway at San Giovanni, Italy. Unlike most airfields in the U.S. where runways cross at angles determined by varying winds, this field with its parallel runways

Coast Guard Helicopter Comes Down With One of 11 Fliers Rescued from Labrador Wilderness.. A Coast Guard helicopter drops gently to the surface of a frozen-over lake near a remote weather station with one of 11 Canadian plane crash victims rescued by the Coast Guard craft from the bleak wilderness of North Labrador. The helicopter is landed on a strip of canvas to prevent the floats from freezing to the ice. With Coast Guard Lieut. August Kleisch, of Cincinnati, Ohio, as pilot, the helicopter took aboard the marooned fliers by means of a rope ladder and moved them, one at a time, to the weather station 32 miles away.
