Landgirl's Day- Everyday Life and Agriculture in West Sussex, England, UK, 1944 29 year old Land Girl Rosalind Cox stands on the back of a truck and uses a 9 inch hook to pass hay bales down from the truck to the waiting hands of a farm hand below. The bales, according to the original caption, weigh 80 pounds. The bales are pulled down the plank of wood acting as a ramp, and are stacked by the farmhand. They are working on Mr Tupper's farm, Bignor, West Sussex.

H. O'Brien, sugar technologist to the Australian Sugar Producers' Association, and editor of The Australian Sugar Journal."Arrowing has occurred in varieties of cane which do not usually arrows."
