The Royal Navy during the Second World War Defensively Equipped Merchant Ship (DEMS) ratings from merchant ships in Colombo harbour practice in the Dome Attack Teacher where films of aircraft are projected on the domed walls and ceiling at the Defensively Equipped Merchant Ship Gunnery Training School. Great realism is achieved by the addition of a sound track. Here DEMS gunners of the Allied nations keep up to date with the weapons and methods used to defend their ships.
