Tomb KV9 in Egypt's Valley of the Kings was originally constructed by Pharaoh Ramesses V, who died in 1145 BC. He was interred here, but his uncle, Ramesses VI, later reused the tomb as his own. The layout is typical of the 20th dynasty, the Ramesside period.

Philae was initially located near the expansive First Cataract of the Nile in Upper Egypt and was the site of an Egyptian temple complex. The temple complex was dismantled and moved to nearby Agilkia Island as part of the UNESCO Nubia Campaign project, protecting this and other compounds before the 1970 completion of the Aswan High Dam. The most ancient was a temple for Isis, built in the reign of Nectanebo I during 380-362 BC, the other ruins date from the Ptolemaic Kingdom (282-145 BC), with many traces of Roman work in Philae dedicated to Ammon-Osiris.

Middle Kingdom The "overseer of troops" Sehetepibre, son of Satankhu was the owner of a commemorative chapel which housed two relief slabs in the collection (65.120.1, 65.120.2). On these slabs, he is seen seated at an offering table, but he and his family are also depicted as mummies.Although Egyptian hieroglyphs could be written in either direction, the preference was right to left. Thus, the list of Sehetepibre's family begins on slab (65.120.2and continues on this slab with (at right) Djehutihotep, son of Iti; Gifit ("the monkey"), daughter of Djedes; and Sehetepibre, son of Djedes. Although their exact relationship to Sehetepibre is not always clear, all of these individuals were probably members of his family.. Tomb of Ramesses III, Pharaoh of the Twentieth Dynasty in Ancient Egypt. reigned from 1186 to 1155 BC and is considered to be the last monarch of the New Kingdom to wield any substantial authority over Egypt. Tomb KV11 is located in the main valley of the Valley of the Kings. The tomb has been open since antiquity, and has been known variously as Bruce's Tomb (named after James Bruce who entered the tomb in 1768) and The Harper's Tomb (due to paintings of two blind harpers in the tomb).

Doorjamb from a Temple of Ramesses II ca. 1279-1213 B.C. New Kingdom, Ramesside These colossal blocks come from a large gateway erected in commemoration of one of Ramesses II's royal jubilees. Two offering scenes are set one above the other. In the upper scene Ramesses II is depicted presenting drink offerings to Amun-Rein the form of Kamutef, "Bull of his Mother," who was identified with the fertility god Min. In the lower scene the king is making a prayer for offerings to Ptah-Tatanen, the patron of the royal jubilee. The right side is inscribed with the names and titles of Ramesses II. At the bottom of the doorjamb Ramesses III, a Twentieth Dynasty king, has roughly incised his own cartouches. The blocks were discovered in 1912-1913 by the Museum's Egyptian Expedition where they had been reused in the foundations of a gargantuan temple undertaken by Ramesses IV in the Asasif valley.
