Carved relief at the Hathor Temple, Dendera, Egypt; showing a Pharaoh before the Gods. Hathor temple (Temple of Tentyra), Egypt has been modified on the same site starting as far back as the Middle Kingdom, and continuing right up until the time of the Roman emperor Trajan. The existing structure was built no later than the late Ptolemaic period. The temple, dedicated to Hathor, is one of the best preserved temples in all Egypt

A photograph taken of the Red Chapel of Hatshepsut (the Chapelle Rouge) constructed initially as a barque shrine during the reign of Hatshepsut, the fifth pharaoh of the eighteenth dynasty of Ancient Egypt and ruled from approximately 1479 to 1458 BC. Although it had been demolished and parts were reused in antiquity, following rediscovery, the chapel has been reconstructed using its original materials. Its original location is thought to have been in the central court of the temple of Amun at Karnak, near Thebes.

Relief Depicting the Nurse Tia ca. 1353-1336 B.C. New Kingdom, Amarna Period The block evokes a scene of the king before a crowd. On the right, an elegant hand dangles alongside the thigh of a royal male, surely Akhenaten. Behind him is a woman labeled "the nurse of the kings daughter Ankhesenpaaten, Tia." Tia faces to the right and holds small loaves to cajole the restive young princess, whose garment is just visible on the far right where she stands for the court ceremony.. Stela of Amennakht. Dimensions: H. 76.3 cm (30 1/16 in.); W. 51 cm (20 1/16 in.). Dynasty: Dynasty 12. Date: ca. 1981-1802 B.C..This fine round-topped stela belongs to an official named Amennakht. In the large scene that takes up the bottom three-quarter of the stela, the owner is shown accompanied by his wife, whose name is not recorded. Amennakht has short hair, and wears a broad collar and a starched short kilt. He stands with one foot forward, holding a long walking stick in one hand and a shorter staff of office in the other. Despite some erosion on the surface, red pigment remains on much of his skin. Amennakht's wife wears a long sheath dress, and her head is adorned with two ornaments in the form of papyrus umbels. She places one hand on her husband's shoulder and holds a water lily blossom, a symbol of regeneration, in the other. In front of Amennakht's face is a pile of food offerings placed on a mat. This reconstruction corresponds in its essence to what an Assyrian palace chamber might have looked like, even it its components originate from a number of different periods and sites. The windowless apartments got their light solely through the doors. The two colossal figures at the entry - called in Assyrian schedulamassu - are human headed, winged lions with horned crowns as a symbol of divinity.

A photograph taken of the Abu Simbel Temple, in Nubia, Southern Egypt, near the border with Sudan. The complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple dates to the 13th century BC, during the 19th dynasty reign of the Pharaoh Ramesses II. It is a monument to the king and commemorates his victory at the Battle of Kadesh. The complex was relocated in its entirety in 1968 under the supervision of a Polish archaeologist, Kazimierz Michalowski, on an artificial hill made from a domed structure, high above the Aswan High Dam reservoir.

Ashurbanipal was the king of the Neo-Assyrian Empire from 669 BC to his death in 631. He is generally remembered as the last great king of Assyria. Inheriting the throne as the favored heir of his father Esarhaddon, Ashurbanipal's 38-year reign was among the longest of any Assyrian king.

The relief was originally part of a block that separated two rooms in a temple dedicated to Amenemhat I.
