Greek-Roman Period Statuary Discoveries -- A quantity of statuary attributed to the Greek-Roman period has recently been discovered during excavations which have been in operation at Patras (Achaia-Slis) in the Peloponnese. The excavations are under the direction of Monsieur Nerantzoulis. The principal statues are (1); Boy Hercules with lion skin under left arm; (2) Hercules wearing lion skin wound around bust and wit lion's mask on left breast; (3) female figure of Archaic type with lonic type of robe and resembling Caryatids of the Acropolis; (4) Statue of nude Hermes natural size; a small head of a child can be discerned at the edge of the photograph. April 12, 1932.

A photograph taken of the Abu Simbel Temple, in Nubia, Southern Egypt, near the border with Sudan. The complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The temple dates to the 13th century BC, during the 19th dynasty reign of the Pharaoh Ramesses II. It is a monument to the king and commemorates his victory at the Battle of Kadesh. The complex was relocated in its entirety in 1968 under the supervision of a Polish archaeologist, Kazimierz Michalowski, on an artificial hill made from a domed structure, high above the Aswan High Dam reservoir.
