Model of the upper top of a stir with round stirring king and parts of an elliptical fence, on base plank. The stirring king is bent and has an octagonal top so that it can be blocked with a locking plate. Two brackets at the top of the head hold a short stirring pin. The lower stirring pin, which runs below, has a slidable iron band with two rotating blocks at the end: this is the 'Rapson slide'.
