In the middle the monogram DRMB, in the upper corners the weapon of Rutgers and in the lower corners the weapon of Block. The napkin belongs to five napkins (BK-1973-194-A to BK-1973-194-F) who were made for David Rutgers (1629-1707) and his wife Margaretha Block (1638-1702). Date: 1851.This quilt's top is composed of pieced blocks of multicolored calicos, stitched together with sashing of green calico. The border is appliquéd with green and beige calico swags. The edge binding is of a different green cotton fabric from that used in the sashing. The backing is of plain white woven cotton. The quilting follows the outline of the swags and the crossed Wild Goose Chase designs, while the plain white areas between the crosses and around the border are quilted with hearts.
