Anniversary exhibition on Caspar David Friedrich at the Albertinum. The painting The Cemetery. A few days in front of the 250th birthday of Caspar David Friedrich (1774-1840), the Dresden State Art Collections are opening an exhibition of numerous works by the painter on 24 August. On display in the Albertinum are 47 paintings by the artist as well as numerous contemporaries. The exhibition is entitled Caspar David Friedrich. Where it all began. . Chimney with corner of oak on marble columns. The mantle has the shape of a head frame with a frieze and cornice. In the middle of the Frisian a medallion with the monogram of the committed West Indian Compagnie and festestranks stabbed on either side. The curved rear surface is coated on either side with tiles. The tiles with shipies in purple inside a blue decor (21 on either side) are original. These are supplemented with witjes at a later time. From the building of the former West Indian Compagnie in Amsterdam.
