Folding impairment with leather magazine on which the Bible story of Eliezer and Rebecca. Eliezer gives Rebecca a ring and holds two more bracelets in his right hand. There is a striking discrepancy between ornamentics on the magazine in a Louis XV style and that is running at the frame, which is running in Louis XIV style. Furthermore, the theme closed for the decoration of the frame is selected, the country life, at all in the representation of the blade. A parent sheet may therefore be installed here on a new frame. The back of the leaf is unpainted. The usual connection is made on the frame between pastoral and love symbolism. In the middle reserve there are a Landman and a backdress on a stack of hooischewoven. In the medallions on either side, there is an outstanding basket between a number of hooische oven from which two birds fly away. Purchased for Juliette in 1886 during a trip to California by her Aunt Julia, this scaled-down version of an adult's accessory indicates that there was a great deal of fondness between the two women. Depicted on this fan is Akikonomu, an empress and Genjis adopted daughter, who lived in the 'autumn' quarter of the palace. Her name literally means, 'Loves Autumn.' When her garden was at its peak one autumn, she collected maple leaves and presented them to Murasaki (Genjis favorite consort who lived in the spring quarter) along with a poem celebrating the beauty of autumn. Here she wears the luxurious, layered robes of a court lady. In front of her, maple leaves fill the upturned lid of a lacquer box.
