Nude crouching figure wearing a wreath, large phallus broken away 664-30 B.C. Late Period-Ptolemaic Period The small figure wearing a leafy crown crouches with his knees raised on either side of a large broken away area; the broken element was an oversized phallus based on traces and many parallels. The identity of the figure is unclear, but is likely connected with the complex of informal statuary including many ithyphallic figures in the Late and Ptolemaic Periods. Pre-matching Satyr with owl. On a round plinth, it is steered on the left lock and mt to the rear. In the right arm he holds an owl, the other is stretched and something aside. At the head, which is used to the left with semi-open mouth, he has a wreath of leaves and flowers. A pendulum of braided leaf drinks hangs from a shoulder diagonally over breast and back, where it ceases the coat that blows forward and covered the shot. At the back of the tree trunk: Clodion.

In his left hand, he may once have held apples, a common attribute of bronze statues of the type. After Herakles slew the Nemean lion and skinned it by using its own claws, the hero consistently wore the lion's skin over his shoulder.. Bes with Worshiper. Dimensions: H. 13.2 cm (5 3/16 in.); W. 5.5 cm (2 3/16 in.); L. 14.5 cm ( 5 11/16 in.). Dynasty: Dynasty 26-29. Date: 664-380 B.C..Bes was worshipped and invoked by ordinary Egyptians as a protector. His usual depiction, as a grotesque dwarf with a lion's ears and mane, was thought to deter the approach of the malevolent forces believed to cause illness. His image here appears in a bronze statuette made for the unnamed man shown worshipping the god. The harp held by Bes may reflect his power to calm angry spirits. Marble statuette of young Dionysos 1st-2nd century A.D. Roman Adaptation of a Greek statue type of the late 4th century B.C.The god is nude except for the nebris (fawn skin) worn diagonally at his right shoulder. Long locks of hair are falling onto the shoulders and back. There are remains of a support on the left flank, while traces of red paint are still visible between the locks of hair in front.The statuette belongs to a series of Roman eclectic sculptures that refer back to a late classical Greek type. The s-curve and slight twist of the torso to the right for example are direct quotes of works by Praxiteles. The young Dionysos became quite popular during the reign of Hadrian in the second century A.D. Belvedere torso from Rome, 1st century BC. A heavily muscled naked figure sits on a rock covered by a panther skin. His identity is much debated. The panther skin and the hole for the tail in his back suggests he is the old satyr Marsyas, a much-loved Hellenistic subject. The rock carries the signature of the statue's maker, Apollonias of Athens.

Although male figures are rare, they tend to be characterized by an attribute or activity; that is not the case in this example. His hair is clearly indicated as full and combed back. It was made by a Greek sculptor or a local craftsman trained in Greek style.
